Alpha fire central – Surveillance increase system security
During development of our fire communication system, Prima has developed products that allow integrated surveillance of the entire fire communication system. This way the components’ functions are under constant supervision.
One solution is installing an Alpha fire central which functions as a system surveillance central that supervise power outage, battery outage, short circuit and component failure. The central controls communication between the connected components and ensures that everything runs smoothly. The Alpha fire central itself can be supervised if it is connected to a FlexAir® access control system.
Component supervision
The Alpha fire central supervises the functionality of the connected in-house stations and fire isolators. This is especially important if a component malfunctions or an in-house station is replaced and programmed incorrectly, which can lead to the phone failing to sound the alarm when needed. The Alpha fire central also checks for cable short circuits, and if the emergency power supply is operational. If any malfunction is detected, the fire central will change the LED-light in the Nexus reader indicator from green to red to bring attention to the malfunction.
Communicating with the administrator
If a system malfunction is detected, the Alpha fire central can send a message to the system administrator and the service personnel. This ensures that they are always informed of the system performance. It is possible to send e-mails or SMS-messages to the administrator if the central is connected to a TCP/IP network with access to the internet to send e-mails or a GSM-gateway to send SMS-messages.
